Process Management PDF Print

Processes produce products and services, and are the heart of an organisation. The environment of an organisation is constantly changing. Developments in IT, quickly changing customer needs, and changes in laws and regulations require that organisations continuously adapt to these changes. Changes in processes are therefore inescapable.

Business Process Management (BPM) covers the effective and efficient design, implementation, and execution of business processes. BPM contains the integral solutions on the strategic, tactical and operational levels in the organisation. Elements of BPM are the different responsibilities in an organisation, continues improvement of processes, and in some cases implementation of process management software (BPM suites).

Many organisations are implementing BPM, or will be starting implementing BPM on short notice. Motives are clear. A better grip on business processes means a better result for the customers, a decrease of cost, and better process performance. How pressing the need for BPM may be, implementing BPM is still a major effort. Especially going from strategic via tactic to operational level results in problems for many organisations. If the strategy is unclear, designing processes will be a problem. Without a clear process design, steering on performance indicators is hard. And without understanding the requirements for connecting to BPM suites implementation of such a suite in the organisation will be a disaster.

BiZZdesign offers a complete and integrated approach for implementing BPM, if necessary with tool support and in connection with BPM suites.

Often, the complete implementation of BPM is a bridge too far. Organisations then choose to implement only parts of a complete BPM solution, like

  • Design, analysis and improvement of business processes
  • Implementation of business processes
  • Getting grip on the business and on risks management

More information on these areas can be found elsewhere on this site.
